Engarde!

Engarde! was made for the University of Portsmouth Gamejam 2015. It was made using Unity (C#).

This year the themes were:

In this game 4 players must run around and pickup coins and then put those coins into their pot. Each player has a hat on them which is also over their pot so they can tell which pot is theirs. The player with the most coins in their pot when the timer is up wins. Players can attack other players to make them drop coins. At the centre of the map spawns the blood coin where the player will transform into a bat so that they get a more powerful attack.

The game received mainly positive reviews. Some people complained about the moving camera (and some people thought it was an excellent idea, so whatever). The biggest problem with the game by a mile is that players have a hard-time determining who is who and which pot belongs to them. There simply isn’t enough feedback for the player to fully understand what’s going on.
